Letter: Harvey Ward is responsible for City budget increases and GRU rate increases

Mayoral Candidate Harvey Ward has championed the City Commission majority the vast majority of the time, putting single-family neighborhoods at risk. Â
Now that he wants to be mayor, he is denying what the record clearly shows.Â
Commissioner Ward also voted to increase the city budget every year he’s been on the City Commission, and he is responsible for GRU electric rate increases of 38% ($49.19 per 1000 kWh), not including the Oct. 1 increase the City Commission approved last month.
Harvey Ward cannot be trusted.
Harvey Ward is not deserving of your vote.

Finally a article of substance.. sweeeeeet..
Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance – Proverbs 1:4
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7
The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Proverbs 4:7
Ms. Martinez has provided some. What you do with it is up to you.
Harvey “Two Face” is a plague on the community.
Time for a vaccination.
He’s a bloated mess, like the city under his watch. Let’s not have another mayor who looks like he could be a poster child for some charity.
Not solely responsible but one of the idiots who played an integral role in raising our utility rates, taxes and homeless population. Just think – he did all of that while hiding behind a mask and a skirt.
Let’s see the number of idiots who play an integral role in hoping he gets elected as their mayor.
The perfect example a Yoho’s Pigs at the trough commercial.
Harvey Ward makes me extra glad I live outside the city limits of Gainesville.
Since I live in Alachua, we have our own commission issues. But I’m glad we don’t have yours. Your mayoral candidates are both rather progressive. If you don’t back in Harvey who will seemingly maintain the status quo, then you have your Green Biomass believer as your other choice. Yes, he wants to keep more funds with GRU instead of sending them to the commission for personal projects. But those funds retained will only go to expanding GRU green energy projects.
GRU leads in using grants for emergency mitigation projects through the Alachua County Emergency Management Local Mitigation Strategy Group. I’ve seen this in person by attending the meetings. They access funds to save their costs for improvements at the expense of other more important projects within our county.
Good luck with all this!
