Letter: Support Ed Book for District 2 City Commissioner

This is to explain why I request your support for Ed Book on November 8 for Gainesville City Commission. 

I have known Ed Book for over 20 years during his long career as a senior public safety officer, teacher, and program administrator.

He helped initiate our city’s programs that protect women, children, and families from exploitation.

I can testify, and many are aware, that Ed Book is known for openly engaging with citizens, demonstrating patience, compassion, and problem-solving.

He also understands, more than most, that the primary role of city government is to provide the best, most effective, and most affordable public service.

Based on extensive experience in managing people and budgets, I strongly believe Ed Book will serve our community well as our District 2 City Commissioner and respectfully ask all who care for good, open government to support Ed Book for the Gainesville City Commission.
