Lighting upgrades at Possum Creek Park are complete

Press release from the City of Gainesville
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The completed project at Possum Creek Park includes lighting the skate park, parking lot, and restroom path. The skate area is now open until 11:30 p.m., allowing extended hours of activity.
As one of Florida’s premiere skateboarding landscapes, Possum Creek’s skate area features a multi-level bowl, obstacles, modern plaza elements, and integrated landscaping.
If skateboarding isn’t your passion, Possum Creek Park also features a playground, picnic pavilion, jogging path, and scenic nature trail that winds through the forest and floodplain. In addition, the park boasts recreation fields suitable for ballgames, frisbee, kite flying, and more. These features are available from dawn until dusk.
Musco Sports Lighting, LLC managed the lighting project in coordination with Vintage Electric, Inc. and M. Gay Constructors, Inc. The project cost was $156,663.88.

Remember when the enlightened city leaders filled this skate park with mulch because they are tyrants who overacted to a virus that kind of killed old and/or unhealthy people? Remember how they tried to put masks on all of us to go grocery shopping or participate in our constitutional rights to vote? Remember how they would have gladly enforced any vaccine mandates to participate in society? Remember how these leaders experienced zero consequences for any of this?
That was pretty crazy huh?
It should be lights out at 10pm.
Yes and at the time no one knew how bad it would be. In your world a Three Mile Island disaster would be ignored because radiation might not fall on everyone. Sad!!
You are contemptible to excuse any of that nonsense.
They are hoping we will forget…
Completely agree with Doug’s comment. I would also add that the way most citizens reacted to the government’s obvious overreach, in their sheep-like manner, was even more troubling to me. I fully expect governments to occasionally act tyrannical but the actions, or lack there of, of regular people was completely astounding.
Then you must oppose effective reactions by public health officials – it’s their job – to counteract threats to, well, public health. That’s the point of all the vaccines your kids – and us when younger – are forced to have in order to attend school, and that’s not only NY and California, but Florida and Texas.
Be consistent in your self righteous opinions.
