Lt Governor Jeanette Nuñez resigns to become Interim President of FIU

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez has submitted her resignation, effective last night; she assumed the role of Interim President of Florida International University today.
As Lt. Governor, Nuñez served as Chair of Space Florida and launched initiatives to support service members and veterans. In her resignation letter, she wrote, “Together, we put freedom over fear to protect Floridians against the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, helped Floridians recover from building collapses, hurricanes, and wildfires, ensured Florida remains the number one state in education, established a strong and thriving economy, made record investments in Florida’s natural resources, prioritized law and order, supported our brave law enforcement officers and first responders, and so much more.”
Nuñez attended FIU as a student, met her husband there, and earned a second degree from FIU in 1998. Two of her three children have attended FIU, and one is currently a student there. She has also served as an adjunct faculty member in health policy at the university.
Finish the damn job that you were voted to perform. Always someone moving from one government job to another. No difference than corrupt Ben Sasse.
Government doesn’t hire outside of the system. High level government positions require you to be part of the brotherhood system…no matter your stupid political party allegiance.
None of this should be acceptable and I blame partisans on both sides
Regardless of how much she’ll be missed, your way of looking at it is really dumb.
Amazing how some people cannot see the system at work. How are you unable to see the constant shuffle of personnel between high level government positions? We see it in the regulatory capture aspect too. It’s a big club and you ain’t in it.
Also, you can belittle others but that does not change the fact that these people operate a tight knit cabal to protect their own interests. Just because you are unaware of it does not mean it doesn’t exist.
What’s dumb? Sasse being a dumb steward of taxpayers’ funds? Someone elected to do a job and then migrates to another before completing the original task? Government jobs requiring you to be butt buddies with someone else?
