Lavelle Jawaun Flowers, 24, has been arrested after allegedly kicking down the door to his ex-girlfriend’s residence, hitting a man with a gun, then preventing the woman from calling 911 and destroying her television.
Flowers was arrested on a warrant that was issued following a 911 call at 5:16 a.m. on May 1. The victim told the responding Alachua County Sheriff Deputy that she and a male friend were in the living room when Flowers kicked her front door in and that he then hit her friend with a handgun. She said she tried to dial 911, and Flowers jumped on her, preventing her from seeking emergency services. She said she was able to break free, then Flowers ran out of her house, punching her television on the way out and damaging it beyond repair.
Flowers has been charged with armed burglary, damage to property between $200 and $1,000, obstructing justice, and battery. He is being held on $575,000 bail.
