Man arrested after allegedly pulling gun on neighbor over trash dispute
BY JENNIFER CABRERA
Joseph Patrick Davis, 28, was arrested yesterday after he allegedly pulled out a gun during a dispute with a neighbor over trash.
Davis and a neighbor were reportedly involved in an altercation around 5:00 p.m. yesterday over trash being placed in each others’ front yards, a feud that has been going on for several months.
According to the arrest report, Davis threw a trash bag into his neighbor’s front yard, and the neighbor then threw trash back toward Davis’ front yard; Davis then threw a trash bag toward his neighbor, and the neighbor threw the trash bag back toward Davis.
Davis then allegedly pulled a firearm from a bag he was carrying and began to pace back and forth, yelling at the neighbor and continuing to throw trash. The incident was reportedly captured on Davis’ doorbell camera. Davis reportedly held the gun at his side, but the neighbor told the responding officer she was in great fear for her life.
Post Miranda, Davis reportedly admitted that he bought the gun because of the ongoing dispute with his neighbor. Davis reportedly does not have a concealed carry permit.
Davis has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and carrying a concealed weapon without a license. He is being held on $20,000 bond.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.Â
This bail is too low for threatening someone with a deadly weapon. This person, apparently with forethought, went out and purchased a gun specifically to introduce it into a dispute with another person.
No location for this story…no arresting agency given…the mysteries continue
What subdivision or hood was this?
Don’t throw your trash in your neighbors yard.
that was my granddaughter and he should not have done that from the beginning, and her 13 yr old daughter was at the back of the car taking the bags out the car they bagged and cleaned all the mess up and he went in and came out and pull the gun on them after coming out stating words to them and they took the bags out and place against a tree and he continued to throw trash over there and she threw it back in his yard and she left and went to work they arrived home and found all this trash in front of their home..more to this story they didn’t tell it all
To continue about my granddaughter .2 gentleman across the street witnessed him pull the gun on them and they got their firearms my granddaughter goes on to work and the gentlemen was arguing so I guess he feared for his life and called the police, immediately upon arriving they arrested a black gentleman police not knowing what started it all so after how it started was told he went to jail to,when he called the police he didn’t tell them the hold story that he had pulled a gun on my granddaughter and that’s what started it all,all of them need to put these d.. guns down I could have lost my daugther and greatgrand because he chose to be disrespectful
When a person pull a gun on someone that’s unarmed especially a woman says a lot and my 13yr old greatgrand she said when he pulled the gun on her mom she was at the back of the car taking the bags of trash out that they had bagged up she said she thought her mom was going to die in front of her,yes his bail is to low
His bond is to low….how is it his bail is 20,000 and a minor was present…but reading on a black lady bail is 100,000 for pulling a gun on someone
