BY JENNIFER CABRERA

Erwin Anota Xolo, 37, was arrested yesterday after his ex-girlfriend reported that he “came out of nowhere” and tried to strangle her.

The victim told an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy that she came home around 6:00 a.m. on Monday, parked in front of her apartment, and walked to her front door. She said her ex-boyfriend “just came out of nowhere” and began attacking her. She said he strangled her to the point where she couldn’t breathe and that he tore her clothes.

Xolo was located yesterday at about 5:30 p.m., and he declined to speak with the deputy post-Miranda. He has been charged with domestic battery by strangulation and domestic battery by striking. He is being held on $32,500 bail.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
