Man arrested for allegedly stealing a washer, dryer, grill, and other items from neighbor’s shed
Stevie Michael McCray, 61, was arrested yesterday morning and charged with driving into his neighbor’s back yard on multiple occasions and stealing a washer, dryer, grill, and other items from her shed. He later allegedly sold the items to a scrap metal recycler.
A sworn complaint alleges that on May 15, McCray drove his pickup truck into a neighbor’s front yard and then into her back yard, parking in front of her shed. He then allegedly loaded up a washer, dryer, and various metals into the truck and drove away.
On May 19, McCray allegedly returned in the pickup truck and took a bicycle, two scooters, a grill, and a tool box full of tools. The items stolen on that date are valued at approximately $2,550.
On May 24, McCray allegedly made two trips to a scrap metal recycler on Waldo Road and sold a sheet of iron, copper, insulated copper, lead batteries, and aluminum extrusion for $158.06. Surveillance video from the recycler reportedly showed the same pickup truck that could be seen on the victim’s home cameras, and the washer, dryer, and miscellaneous metals could be seen in the truck. 10 minutes later, surveillance video reportedly showed the truck driving away with an empty bed.
McCray has been charged with four counts of grand theft over $750, two counts of burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, and dealing in stolen property. He is being held on $155,000 bail. McCray has 16 felony convictions and nine misdemeanor convictions.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.Â
What a loser.
Why get a job when he can steal from his neighbor? Where did he learn that behavior?
Why did this go on on many occasions.??
