GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Tajar Muqit Leath, Jr., 22, was arrested yesterday morning and charged with domestic battery and criminal mischief.
Leath allegedly punched a woman, then went outside and damaged her vehicle, breaking the mirrors, windshield wipers, and a door handle. The damage was estimated at less than $1,000.
Leath has a juvenile history and an out-of-county history. He is on probation for an incident in which he allegedly pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot someone, but he entered a plea of nolo contendere to attempted robbery in that case and received a sentence of 120 days in jail, followed by two years of probation; adjudication of guilt was withheld as part of the plea deal. He is being held on $75,000 bail.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
