Man arrested for sexual battery on 15-year-old girl
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Tyquan Anthony Adams, 26, was arrested yesterday and charged with three counts of sexual battery on a 15-year-old girl and two counts of transmitting obscene material to a minor after allegedly having sex with a girl while staying at her house.
The arrest report states that Adams lives in New York, but he has a Florida driver’s license and previously lived in Gainesville; he reportedly arrived on March 23 and planned to stay with family at a house in northwest Gainesville for an undetermined amount of time.
On April 1, the victim reported to a family member that Adams had had sex with her three times since he had arrived; the alleged incidents happened either late at night while other members of the household were sleeping or while the adult members of the household were out of the house.
The homeowners reportedly kicked Adams out of the house, and he went to another relative’s house; the homeowners promptly called the police after learning about the alleged incidents.
In a forensic interview, the victim reportedly said she was afraid of Adams and felt like she couldn’t say “no” when he wanted sex. She also reported that Adams had coerced her into having sex “more than 10 times” when she was 13 and he was living in Gainesville for about a year before going back to New York.
The victim further reported that after Adams went back to New York, he sent her nude videos of himself using “vanish mode” on Instagram.
Adams was reportedly arrested at another relative’s house and interviewed by a Gainesville Police Department officer.
Post Miranda, Adams reportedly denied having sex with the girl, but after the officer confronted him with specific information, he reportedly admitted sending her two nude videos in “vanish mode.” He continued to insist that he hadn’t had sex with her but reportedly admitted that sending her the nude videos “looks bad.”
Adams later reportedly admitted having sex with the victim twice in the past week. He reportedly provided details that matched the details given by the victim. He reportedly said he “didn’t know why he did it” and admitted that he knew the victim was 15 years old.
Adams has no local criminal history, but his full criminal history is not available because those documents aren’t made public in cases involving children. Judge Susan Miller-Jones ordered him held without bail, pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s Office to hold him without bail until trial.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.Â
He admitted to his sick crimes. Straight to the lobotomy table. He doesn’t know why he does it shows he can’t control his criminal sickness. If he gets out the will only go back to it. He needs to use “vanish mode” on himself never to be seen again in society.
People like him exist solely for public attorneys to look busy and keep their jobs, better for paying off their law skool loans. 💩👹🤡ACLU
