Man arrested for stalking and threatening restaurant employees

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Derrick Anthony Jordan, 41, whose address is listed as GRACE Marketplace, was arrested yesterday and charged with stalking after former co-workers complained that he was harassing them.

Jordan was reportedly fired from a downtown restaurant on August 25 and allegedly began following and harassing the victim, a former co-worker, and threatening to break his jaw. During that period, Jordan was also trespassed from the restaurant after complaints that he was threatening the staff. The victim who called Gainesville Police Department yesterday reported that Jordan had followed him, threatened him, and threatened other staff members that day.

Jordan has eight felony convictions and was most recently released from state prison in March of 2022. He is listed as a Regular Career Offender and has another pending felony charge for property damage. He is being held on $10,000 bail with a requirement for a GPS monitor upon release.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • How proud his family must be. Their son made the Regular Career Offender list! Next thing he’ll be trying out for the “Exceptional Career Offender” list which includes ‘bonus’ years for consistency.
