Man arrested for stealing 77 items from Walmart
BY JENNIFER CABRERA
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Travis James Brendle, 40, was arrested yesterday afternoon after allegedly filling a shopping cart with 77 items at Walmart and walking out without paying.
Brendle entered the Butler Plaza Walmart around 1:00 p.m. yesterday and placed 77 items, including a flat-screen TV, clothes, baby products, bath towels, and bedding in a cart and then allegedly walked out without paying; the items added up to $1,876.22.
The store’s Loss Prevention Officer (LPO) told a Gainesville Police Department officer that he had followed Brendle through the store because an LPO from the Waldo Road Walmart had sent him a text about Brendle.
Brendle also allegedly filled a shopping cart at the Walmart in Palatka several days ago but abandoned it before leaving the store and did the same thing at the Waldo Road Walmart on October 13.
Brendle has been charged with grand theft over $750, a third-degree felony. Bail information is unavailable.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.Â
I’d give this azzhat 77 hours of community service, one hour for every item he attempted to steal and then make him pay restitution in the amount of $1,876.22 The last stipulation would be for a redo of his mugshot photo with him smiling so that kids know what drugs do to your teeth.
He’s prolly ROR as I type, headed to the Pine Ridge Walmart on the bus to steal once again.
