Man arrested for threatening 12-year-old with knife
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Cesar Antonio Evans, 40, was arrested yesterday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly threatening to kill a 12-year-old boy with a kitchen knife.
At about 9:10 p.m. last night, a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to the Save-a-Lot Food Store on NW 13th Street, where the victim, a 12-year-old boy, said he had been riding his bicycle when Evans, who was standing in front of the store, started yelling racial slurs at him. The victim said Evans charged at him with a kitchen knife, yelling, “I am going to kill you.” The boy was able to pedal away and call 911.
When the officer arrived, he reportedly saw Evans walking aggressively toward the boy, but Evans reportedly stopped when he saw the officer. The officer reportedly found the knife in the parking lot.
Evans has one misdemeanor conviction, a DUI conviction from a 2019 incident. Bail information is unavailable on weekends.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
How did this Honduran with mental health issues end up in Gainesville? He is not contributing to the betterment of our town. He is a Danger to everyone. Driving a BMW yet claiming to be indigent? He needs to go back. We can’t go out at night because of illegals like this. Did the city get funds from Chicago to take him in? Get funds to send him back.
Thank Joke Biden and the rest of his minions for this.
You have no idea what yr talking about
Curious – how do you know he’s Honduran and what type of vehicle he drives?
Alachua County court records, my friend. The left wonders why we think they’re stupid.
Chill, guest. I’m new in town and wasn’t aware you can view court records. Thanks for the tip!
The point of they have nothing else better to do than go search records. Heck they need to be on the force as a detective
I don’t condone what Cesar did, he was wrong, but you don’t know him, I do, I’m his father. Cesar is an an American citizen born in Honduras because I was a Peace Corps volunteer there and met his mother. You sound racist if you think being Honduran has anything to do with it, likewise I could blame you for all the actions of all the American mass murderers. Cesar is not racist, he has had friends of all colors Somebody gifted him a BMW a long time ago, but he hasn’t had it for years and doesn’t drive. He has mental issues but days ago 2 black guys jumped him when he was on his bike and took his bike and he lost his glasses so he can’t see well. He should not have threatened the 12 year old, but he is not the person you are saying he is.
to add – I suspect the youth was either one of the guys that attacked Cesar or Cesar thought he was, since he can’t see without his glasses he may have mistook him, but nevertheless he shouldn’t have threatened the youth and should have had the police handle it
Hi, I am beyond words so sorry to see this! I went to high school with Cesar (or Roberto as we called him) and he later worked for me. He was always such a kind person and gifted artist in all the years we knew each other and I pray that he and you and the others involved are able to recover from this incident. How shocking, truly 🙁 I’m so sorry
Dang where did you get information on him from
Ay Chihuahua!
Just outside a grocery store?
If you’re able, legally, best be ready. They’re wanting to ban firearms but knives are still out there.
And other weapons. Very true
Joe did this.
We’re such a welcoming community 🤬👹🍦🍦🍦🍦
Too many knives! At least ti was a Kitchen Knife and not an Assault Knife! Luckily the knife didn’t “just go off”!
A 12yo out alone at night?!! Where were his parents??
Day be playin’ cards.
Deport or ship to Washington DC and drop him off at Uncle Joe’s house.
