Man arrested for threatening woman with gun
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Tristin Zyler Miller, 19, was arrested early yesterday morning and charged with aggravated assault after allegedly pointing a gun at a woman.
The responding Gainesville Police Department officer reported that at about 11:24 p.m. on February 19, Miller allegedly punched the victim in the face outside her residence at Hidden Village Apartments (2725 SW 27th Avenue) while she was trying to keep Miller from beating up her boyfriend.
The victim said that after this incident, Miller yelled “belligerently” at her while pointing a handgun at her inside her apartment. The victim provided a description of the firearm and specifically remembered that the magazine was transparent.
Miller reportedly said he was just a witness and never threatened or touched anyone during the incident; he said he never had a firearm at any point during the altercation. He declined to make any post-Miranda statements.
The officer reported that the gun was not found, but officers believed it was in Miller’s vehicle, and they were trying to obtain a search warrant for the vehicle at the time of Miller’s arrest.
Miller has been charged with battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He has no criminal convictions, but he is facing a sworn complaint out of Gilchrist County for aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony. Judge Jonathan Ramsey ordered him held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s Office to hold him without bail until trial. On February 24, Judge James Colaw denied the motion and set bail at $150,000.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

He is from Gilchrist County? His parents need to take him behind the wood shed and remind him where he from. Knock the urbanization out of him.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 now what “urbanization” got to do w/ his behavior? You’re funny, but let’s not be prejudice. Styles travel, and behavior is still a personal choice. Don’t blame “urbanization” or culture for one person’s bad decisions.
I can see why he thought he needed to be armed. Walking around with a haircut like that ought to get him a beatdown or two.
So we’re justifying violence over haircuts now? Cool. Guess Crocs wearers need witness protection. His hair is nice and neat. He’s got a fresh edge and he looks very handsome. It’s his behavior that doesn’t sit well. And there’s no telling what the victim did to him. 3 aides to every story.
That’s right, anyone can have a pooh-head nowadays!
Excuse-making is why he turned out that way, and why he came to a college town due to folks like YOU.
Yeah you know all about getting a beat down
Having hair like that is a crime all by itself.
Wonder if he’s originally from Gilchrist or someone who couldn’t afford Gainesville?
Take a good look at his hair go to the Alauchua County sheriff department website look at some hairdos then I think we can all understand Gun and want to be a thug
How lovely, if I looked like that maybe I’d be in jail too.
Man and women are used loosely here. More like ‘thug’ and ‘thugette’. These idiots solve their problems with fists and guns instead of rational discussion. These three will most likely live happily ever after in the frequent presence of the police, courts, probations officers, and the jail.
