HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – Christian David Greenwald, 31, who is described as “homeless” on the arrest report, was arrested yesterday morning after a High Springs woman reported that he was standing outside her apartment, looking through her partially-open door.

The victim reported that Greenwald had stood outside her apartment, which is located near Winn-Dixie in High Springs, for three days in a row. He was trespassed from the location on May 19 by the High Springs Police Department. The victim was alone in the apartment with her pre-teen daughter at the time.

Post Miranda, Greenwald reportedly said that he believes the victim is Taylor Swift and has his child. He was charged with trespassing and is being held on $25,000 bond.

Update, March 11, 2023: Greenwald was released to Meridian Crisis Stabilization Unit in June 2022 for involuntary examination and stabilization. He was discharged back to the jail on July 2, 2022. He was found incompetent to proceed with trial on July 29 and was Baker Acted for assessment and stabilization. In December, he was reported to be compliant with treatment and competent to proceed. In January, he entered a plea of nolo contendere to trespassing; adjudication of guilt was withheld, and he was placed on probation for one year.

Greenwald sent us the following statement: “On the day I got arrested, I passed by the house on the street and was recorded via security camera. I had walked back to the address entrance but did not pass the property line and was just seeing if I could clear up the misunderstanding as if to wave the people inside. When arrested, I was talking about my future success as I watch too much Shark Tank. I was saying I was going to be so successful that one day Taylor Swift has my baby. This got misinterpreted by the police to mean that I thought that the victim was Taylor Swift, which is absurd. At no time did I misunderstand those neighbors to be Taylor Swift or her child, obviously Taylor Swift does not have a child yet. I was also never in a situation where I was peering inside her door. I was knocking on the door like an ordinary person.”

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • It looks like he was trespassed from all UF properties in December, and he has a criminal history in Oregon as recently as last summer. I guess he knows where to go when he wants free stuff and women to leer at. That’s sad if crazy people from Oregon are coming here now.

  • This man is definitely homeless. He slept at the table at my work and didn’t seem there half the time mentally. Crazy to see this happen.
