GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Anthony Justice McGlocking, 22, was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana and possession of a concealed firearm without a permit.

At 4:47 p.m. yesterday, law enforcement responded to a shooting that occurred in the area of the Clarence R. Kelly Community Center (1701 NE 8th Avenue). While still on scene, they saw a car driving at a high rate of speed on NE 8th Avenue and then running the stop sign at NE 15th Street. A Gainesville Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop on the car and issued the driver a citation for running the stop sign.

While talking to the driver, the officer reportedly saw a plastic bag containing a green leafy substance at the feet of a man in the back seat. When asked to step out of the car, the man, later identified as McGlocking, reportedly said he had a gun on him, and a handgun was reportedly found during a search. The substance in the bag was reportedly identified as 3.1 grams of marijuana.

Post Miranda, McGlocking reportedly said that he owns the firearm but does not have a permit to carry a concealed firearm. The report says that officers do not have any information leading them to believe that McGlocking was involved in the shooting at the Clarence R. Kelly Community Center.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • Follow the traffic rules and they wouldn’t have had
    PC to stop them…now he’s in the system…why didn’t
    He have a CWP?
