Man in pre-trial diversion agreement arrested after fleeing through Hunters Crossing parking lot, taking motorcycle into McDonald’s kitchen
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Jamari Jakwon Kinsler, 20, was arrested yesterday afternoon after allegedly fleeing at high speed on a motorcycle, including driving the wrong way on NW 43rd Street; he allegedly rode around the Hunters Crossing parking lot multiple times before taking the motorcycle into the kitchen and back room of McDonald’s.
At about 3:25 p.m. on April 21, a Florida Highway Patrol Trooper saw a red motorcycle “catwalking” (popping a wheelie and riding on the rear wheel) on NW 39th Avenue near NW 34th Street. The trooper turned on his lights, and the motorcyclist reportedly continued westbound on NW 39th Avenue, looked back at the trooper, and turned north onto NW 43rd Street.
The trooper turned on his siren and reported that the motorcyclist looked back at him a few times before accelerating rapidly, passing a vehicle in the bike lane, and then crossing all the lanes and traveling northbound in the southbound lanes and bike lane of NW 43rd Street.
The motorcyclist reportedly entered the parking lot of McDonald’s and drove around the building twice before driving through the Publix parking lot, cutting in between parked cars, with multiple pedestrians and vehicles present. The motorcyclist reportedly drove back to McDonald’s, where a citizen told the trooper he went around that building and took the motorcycle inside the restaurant.
The trooper entered the lobby of the restaurant and saw the employee door open; an employee said the man was in the back. The trooper reportedly found Kinsler walking toward him from the back of the store; Kinsler allegedly resisted being placed in handcuffs.
The motorcycle was reportedly found inside McDonald’s, in the back of the store. A witness said the motorcyclist had gone in the side door, so the trooper reported that Kinsler must have taken the motorcycle “all the way through the kitchen to the back of the store, as there is no other way for it to have gotten there.”
Responding Gainesville Police Department officers reportedly said they are familiar with Kinsler because he has a history of “doing the same things on a motorcycle and fleeing, as well as fleeing on foot.”
The motorcycle was not registered for operation on the roadway, and Kinsler does not have a motorcycle endorsement, and several citations were issued.
Kinsler has been charged with fleeing at high speed with disregard for the safety of others, attempting to hide evidence, resisting an officer without violence, operating a vehicle with no registration, operating a motorcycle without an endorsement, and racing. He has juvenile convictions between 2017 and 2022, and he is in a pre-trial diversion agreement for running from an officer who pulled him over while he was riding a bicycle at night without a light; while he was on pre-trial release, he was arrested for battery, but Judge Susan Miller-Jones reinstated his pre-trial release conditions, and that case is no longer available to the public. The pre-trial diversion agreement states that the charge of resisting an officer will be dropped in August if he refrains from violating the law until that date.
Judge Kristine Van Vorst set bail at $230,000 on the new charges.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
wonder if GPD even ran the vin number on the bike.
statistics lean towards its stolen
Not every person rather they are black or white but especially black that rides a bicycle or a motorcycle is stolen. People do work hard for their stuff and this young man had a full-time job but that’s the first thing come out of you guys mouth when you read situations like this. This young man always rode his bicycle or his motorcycle on one wheel there is nothing against that. Riding it on the wrong side of the road put in the police on a high-speed chase riding into McDonald’s kitchen is. Things isn’t always how it appears to be or say it and sometime write-ups be lies as well.
90% chance it was stolen, just like there’s a 90% chance you are a liberal
Maybe..just maybe…this guy should do some prison time to keep him off the streets. Maybe..
Him riding his motorcycle on the wrong side of the road was wrong if that was really the case but him going to prison for riding his motorcycle on one wheel get it together he’s entitled to ride his motorcycle however he choose long as it’s not involving anybody thank God nobody didn’t get hurt when he ran into the McDonald’s kitchen or put the police on a high speed chase
It’s about time an officer was in the right place at the right time.
Too bad a Mack truck couldn’t have met him at an earlier time – head on.
I bet you would have loved that wouldn’t you if it was a head on but thank God it wasn’t
Another REPEAT OFFENDER groomed since childhood by the local ACLUSPLCDNC 🤡👺👹👿💩
Send the lawyers and judges to El Salvador, too. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
He will never learn!.. sad!
I actually have recorded him doing a wheelie for about a half mile or more on 39th in the same area. He’s pretty good at it.
He’s amazing and he don’t bother anybody
We can thank judges like miller for this guy being out on the streets.
Punk. But he’s gonna get a slap on the wrist and made to promise to be considerate to others and obey the law.
Yeah, sure!!!
He’s definitely not a punk and he didn’t do anything wrong by riding his motorcycle on one wheel everyone has a hobby and his hobby along with other young man is riding a bike on one wheel or they motorcycles going the wrong way and put in the police on a high-speed chase and going in McDonald’s kitchen that’s wrong but who is you to judge
Yalls should understand that if we had GRU back then we could build the chuckle cheese chestnut football complex. Then the kids would be there rather than doing bikes in the bathroom at hickey ds and shooting up McPherson park. Walk a mile in their flip flops.
Hopefully they impound the bike and it racks up so much fees that he can never get it back. Of course it’s probably stolen anyway.
Definitely wasn’t stolen he worked hard for his stuff that’s the first thing that comes out of y’all mouth in situations like this not every black or white man that rides a bicycle or a motorcycle but especially a black man is stolen
“Pre-trial release”= Please don’t do it again or….or….or….we’ll put you on probation too! Oh my!
Oh I think we should wait till this criminal kills some innocent family before we do anything to stop him. s/
Thank God no one was hurt including himself
Thank God everybody is safe including him being on the wrong side of the road putting the police on a high-speed chase and running through McDonald’s kitchen is not acceptable but riding his bike on one wheel is that is not against the law and there’s nothing wrong with that because he doesn’t bother anybody he’s entitled to ride his bicycle or his motorcycle however he choose to just as long as he’s not doing anything stupid or causing any accidents everybody is entitled to their own opinion but when you accusing someone of stealing something when you don’t know nothing about this person other than what you’re reading even sometime the write-up be lies but at the end of the day he’s a hard-working young man and he pays for everything that he come in contact with there’s nothing that stolen not even his motorcycle that’s the first thing that come out of you guys mouth when you see situations like this rather it’s a black guy or a white guy but especially a black guy not everything is stolen
Jamari prayers are going up for you when you get out do better. I know that you are a hard-working young man and I know how you ride your motorcycle in your bicycle because you’ve been doing it for years some people enjoy seeing you ride your bike or motorcycle how you ride it and some have an issue with it I always told you to be safe and to be careful now I can admit riding your bicycle on the wrong side of the road is wrong if that was the case what’s most definitely wasn’t right what you put in the police on a high speed chase and running into McDonald’s kitchen because somebody or yourself could have got hurt and I thank God that no one did including yourself people always judging other people according to what they read but don’t know nothing about the person that they’re reading stuff about write-ups be lies as well but everybody has their opinion even if it’s right or wrong you keep your head up stay prayed up and let God handle the rest 🙏🏾❤️
You are a criminal enabler
We should place the blame where it belongs. The Alachua County School Board. They obviously do not teach students the difference between restaurants having a “drive thru” and a “drive in.” 🙂
