Man on pre-trial release arrested for threatening to kill relative with a gun
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Ramon Castillo King, 32, was arrested yesterday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly pointing a gun at a relative and threatening to kill him.
At about 4:05 p.m. yesterday, Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a home in the 4500 block of SE 2nd Place, where the victim said King, who is related to him through marriage, pulled up in a pickup truck while he and his wife were in the front yard of their home. The victim said that King pulled a gun from his waistband and said he was going to kill him. When the victim’s wife said she was calling 911, King reportedly got back into the truck and left.
Deputies reportedly found King outside his residence in an apartment complex in the 1200 block of NW 39th Avenue.
Post Miranda, King reportedly denied ever being in the area of the victim’s home and said he does not own a firearm.
King has a juvenile criminal history between 2002 and 2009, nine adult felony convictions (none violent), and eight adult misdemeanor convictions (none violent). He has served one state prison sentence for selling cocaine and was released in 2016. He was charged with shoplifting in May 2023, and that case is still working its way through the courts. He was arrested in October 2023 for domestic battery and is on pre-trial release in that case. Judge Susan Miller-Jones set bail at $30,000.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
He needs a time out in prison for 10 to 15 years. Plus get his hair straightened out. His helicopter blades are really messed up.
The courts keep these demons stuck here forever. If they’d just keep them locked up, everybody would be better off. Including the court’s revolving door ball bearings.
9 felony convictions, 8 misdemeanor convictions and served 1 sentence and out on pretrial.
17 convictions in 14 years and only one prison term? Further criminal charges in May and October of last year? When will he be treated as a career criminal? He obviously can’t obey the laws of a civilized society.
At this point, “news” about people on pretrial release, who continue to commit crimes, is not news anymore. Next!
