Man on probation arrested for disorderly intoxication and assault on an officer at The Marketplace at Thornebrooke
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Ronald Zachary Allen, 33, was arrested yesterday and charged with assault on an officer, disorderly intoxication in a public place, and resisting an officer without violence after allegedly threatening to kill and batter people on the walkway of The Marketplace at Thornebrooke (4150 NW 16th Blvd).
At about 12:57 p.m. yesterday, a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to a call about an intoxicated person making statements about killing people and threatening to batter people. The caller reportedly said there were numerous empty liquor bottles on the ground around the man.
The officer found Allen, who reportedly matched the description provided by the caller, on the bench outside D’lites Emporium and began engaging with Allen to obtain his identification, but Allen was reportedly non-compliant and aggressive. Allen reportedly told the officer that he knew his rights, that he did not have to identify himself, that he was free to leave despite the officer’s statements, and that the officer was making a mistake. Allen allegedly threatened a fight with the officer and threatened to beat him up. Allen allegedly asked the officer if he wanted to live to see his parents tomorrow.
Allen allegedly stood up and appeared to be ready to fight the officer, so the officer reportedly grabbed his arm to prevent harm to himself and to the bystanders who were gathering. The officer reportedly struggled with Allen and backed him into the corner by D’lites, where Allen allegedly continued to try to break free. The officer reportedly used his taser three times and required the assistance of an off-duty Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy and another GPD officer to handcuff Allen.
Allen has one felony conviction (violent) and four misdemeanor convictions (two violent) and is on probation after entering a plea of nolo contendere to a domestic stalking charge. Judge David Kreider set bail at $15,000.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Worthless trash. Decent bond from Kreider.
Obviously he has a slight alcohol problem. Probation should be revoked and let him dry out in prison for a few years. I guess he didn’t understand his right to go to jail after acting out.
Crying bear you are here everyday never have anything but negative comments why don’t you get a life
Timmy, lower the temperature radical liberal. Show me one positive thing about this POS or 99.9 percent of the other criminals arrested in this county. None of them contribute or make society any better. If you think these criminals are so positive invite them into your home, let them watch your kids, manage your bank account, or drive your car. Plus I like commenting since if gets liberals like you so enraged you show your true colors and morals.
From a corporate website: “D’lites Low Fat Soft Serve Ice Cream Is Now Available To Existing Dessert Shops. You Can Increase Store Sales Simply By Offering D’lites To Your Menu.” . . . and by keeping the EOH-addicated locals away from your doorstop.
Does he live in the encampment right there? That’s good that the blue Fresh Market set is getting a taste of what they voted for.
You aren’t right. What the heck does fresh market have to do with this.
Are we to assume then that you get your daily suitcase of Bud Lite and Twinkies at the closest Circle K? And what then did the stereotypes living in your head vote for? I don’t get it.
Rednecks still drink that tranny beer? And you are the one that truly knows what a creamy twinkle taste like Jizzy
Mr Peabody where is the encampment near Fresh Market ? Also please don’t think because I shop Fresh Market (which many times is cheaper then Publix) that I vote “blue” great day man !!! I’m old not stupid.
They need to make min $10000 bond and no ROR’s will stop alot of the BS in our community.
You need to change their behavior so they behave‼️
Jail needs to be hell…if they can’t pay the bond, then work release.
Mandatory haircuts for first appearance to show respect to the judge & the system..
Remind Mr. Pea that this happened in the soon to be Conservative Utopia of Springs County. What will the Republican do differently to solve this problem besides putting up the Ten Commandments in every classroom of their Bible thumping Jehad for Jesus charter madrassa schools? Please elaborate. Only serious ideas more legal than “toss them in a wood chipper” will be considered.
@Madrassa….
I don’t think you know where Thornebrook or Fresh Mkt are 🙄
It is west of 34th street, the proposed eastern boundary of Conservative Utopia Springs County. Find someone versed in geography to learn you where that is. 🙂
Lower the temperature on the radical attack on other people’s religion. I am sure in you’re idea of Utopia everyone is free to commit whatever crime they want. The quick solution to crime is make it unlivable as a criminal and undesirable to commit crime in our county. Whether that harsh sentencing or fining. It’s one was to push them into the new Gainesville County where they would be free to feast upon the no penalty population. Other harsher options would hurt your feelings or give you an attack of TDS so I won’t list them.
Yet another example of why our police officers deserve a 200% pay raise immediately. Paid for by cutting the pay of public attorneys and judges by 50%.
We need a state referendum on this ASAP.

Judge David Kreider set bail at $15,000…….4 violent felonies & 4 violent misdemeanors….again, I guess someone will have to die before they lock this dangerous criminal up
