Man on probation arrested for stabbing and terrorizing woman over 12-hour period
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Christian Eugene Thompson, 29, was arrested yesterday on a warrant for stabbing and terrorizing a woman over a 12-hour period; he was also charged with marijuana possession after a search incident to arrest.
A woman recently reported to Gainesville Police Department that Thompson had held her prisoner for about 12 hours in January, taking her phone, stabbing her multiple times, beating her, pouring hot water over her feet, and telling her he would harm her or her family members if she tried to call for help. At one point, he allegedly asked her if she knew what a human sacrifice was and told her he was about to show her “what human sacrifices are.”
The victim said that after about 12 hours, during which she was unable to leave or call for help, she was bleeding so profusely that Thompson agreed to call 911, but he told her that she had to lie about what happened and tell law enforcement that they had been robbed. It took her several weeks to come forward and tell officers what really happened.
Thompson was arrested at his job, and a search incident to arrest reportedly produced 20.5 grams of marijuana and a scale.
Thompson has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, robbery by sudden snatching, intimidating a witness, battery, possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana, and possession of drug equipment. He has not yet been charged with violation of probation.
Thompson was arrested in January 2023 and charged with grand theft of a firearm, possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis, loitering and prowling, driving without a valid license, and attaching an illegal license plate to a vehicle. He was on pre-trial release at the time on similar charges from February 2022. He entered a plea of nolo contendere to carrying a concealed firearm without a permit and driving without a valid license for the February 2022 charges, and the January 2023 charges were dropped in the plea deal, along with a marijuana possession charge from the February 2022 arrest. He was sentenced to 126 days in jail with credit for 126 days served, followed by two years of probation; adjudication of guilt was withheld on the felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.
Thompson has juvenile convictions spanning from 2002 to 2011, one adult felony conviction (none violent), and six misdemeanor convictions (three violent). Judge Thomas Jaworski set bail at $504,000.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.Â
That doo seems to have a distinct pattern of lawlessness.
You probably mean ‘do, as in hairdo? I thought you were talking about that dog doo mess on his sorry head. Not much of a human being; this victim is going to need PTSD care for yrs. to come.
This guy needs to be locked up for a very long time. No slap on the wrist. No probation. Real PRISON time. That poor girl will carry that horrific incident with her for the rest of her life.
Once again shocking and jiving plea deals do not work with these criminals. How many times have we seen them violate their probation for the sole reason to commit more crime. Having a pile of dog poo on your head doesn’t help either.
All his past judges and public lawyers should forfeit 22 years of paychecks to that victim. A new state amendment should require this.
No bail!!!!!!!! This is the type of person who should NOT get bail.
100% agree
