Man on probation arrested on drug and firearm charges
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Domitree Gerald Bacon, 21, was arrested yesterday and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana.
At about 2:52 p.m. on February 6, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy reported that he saw a gray Pontiac cross into oncoming traffic; the Pontiac also reportedly failed to stop at the stop bar when entering U.S. Hwy 441 at NW 55th Avenue.
The deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Northwest 53rd Avenue, but the vehicle reportedly passed several safe places to stop, so deputies used a vehicle box-in tactic to stop the vehicle, and Bacon was identified as the passenger in the vehicle.
A consensual search of Bacon reportedly produced a bag with 2.7 grams of marijuana in his pocket; Bacon does not have a medical marijuana card.
The deputy reported a strong odor of burnt marijuana as he approached the vehicle, and there was also marijuana “shake” in the driver’s door, driver’s seat, and on the driver’s floor. A probable cause search of the vehicle reportedly produced a pistol with an extended magazine under Bacon’s seat and another bag with 15 grams of marijuana in the center console. The arrest report does not provide any information about the driver, despite mentioning the marijuana found in the center console.
Bacon is a convicted felon who is on probation and is not permitted to possess firearms.
Bacon has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana, and violating probation. He was arrested for vehicle burglary in Alachua as a juvenile, but the disposition of that case is not a public record. He was arrested in August 2024 for fighting at a high school football game in Hawthorne and refusing to stop when instructed by deputies, and he entered into a pre-trial diversion agreement on those charges but failed to successfully complete the terms of the agreement and eventually entered a plea of nolo contendere to the charges; adjudication of guilt was withheld, and he was fined $343 in October 2025, but he has only paid $30 of the fees, and his scheduled payments are past due. He is on probation out of Orange County until June 2027 for fleeing law enforcement. Judge Adam Lee set bail at $85,000 on the new charges.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Can we send him there?
they have to come get him
A good question is he was even allowed leave the county while on probation. Hopefully Orange County will VOP and get him out of here.
