Man with 51 criminal convictions arrested for threatening to bomb bank
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – James Edward Flintroy, 59, was arrested yesterday and charged with making a false report about a bomb threat.
On January 15, a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to a report from TD Bank (600 NW 43rd Street) that Flintroy had called the bank’s corporate line and said he was “going to come to the location and blow it up.” Flintroy reportedly said he’d been to prison, was not afraid of going back, and intended to follow through on the threat.
A bank representative told the officer that Flintroy has an account at the bank and has been to the NW 43rd Street branch multiple times, so he is familiar with the layout of the office. The representative also gave the officer Flintroy’s contact information from his bank profile.
The officer made contact with Flintroy at his home at Campus Walk Apartments (914 SW 8th Avenue), and post Miranda, Flintroy reportedly said he had been upset and had called the bank’s corporate line and said he was going to blow up the bank.
Flintroy has been charged with making a false bomb threat. He has 22 felony convictions (non-violent) and 29 misdemeanor convictions (non-violent) and has served six state prison sentences (all out of Broward County), with his most recent release in 2015. Judge Susan Miller-Jones set bail at $75,000.

Hopefully 52nd conviction is the charm to put him away for good.

Fifty-one convictions. That’s one for every state in the Union and then some, but he decides to make a home in Gainesville.
Just what the community needs, another criminal.
WTF why hasn’t DeSantis done anything yet? Is it because he wants to go back and work at a law firm later?
