Press release from Mindful Messages
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Mindful Messages, a Gainesville-based non-profit organization dedicated to spreading positivity and inspiration through public art, proudly announces the commencement of its inaugural mural project at Fort Clarke Middle School. This collaborative effort between students and professional muralists aims to uplift and inspire the school community while beautifying its surroundings.
The painting of the mural will begin on Monday, March 18, 2024, marking a significant milestone for Mindful Messages and Fort Clarke Middle School alike. Through the combined creativity and vision of students and seasoned muralists, the project seeks to create a lasting legacy of positivity within the school’s hallways.
“We are thrilled to embark on this journey with Fort Clarke Middle School,” said Jenna Horner, Founder of Mindful Messages: A Mural Movement. “This mural represents not only a beautification of the school, but also a symbol of collaboration and unity within the community. We believe that the uplifting imagery we create will resonate with students, faculty, and visitors for generations to come.”
The mural will feature vibrant imagery, carefully selected to bring joy and inspiration to all who encounter it. Mindful Messages envisions the artwork as a beacon of hope and encouragement, brightening the school environment and fostering a sense of pride and, perhaps more importantly, belonging among students and staff.
“I’m hopeful that the mural will be an inspiration for all students as they walk around campus, something to look forward to that will brighten their day,” said Jared Taber, Principal of Fort Clarke Middle School. “I believe it will be a positive, uplifting message that will also enhance our visual appeal, campus-wide.”
I hope that tis artwork has been screened by Thinking Parents of the school children.
They need no more inspirational LGBT/queer banners. We are all aware that certain colors are associated with that group.
Let’s just hope it brings people together and doesn’t try and divide them like so much other “inspirational” art. The students that had all that “art” at the warphaus that had ACAB all over it come to mind.
This is the same woman who was behind a few of the BLM murals around town..she is a 007 Woke Artist indeed.
