FLORIDA – Moms for Liberty Florida urges Florida voters to vote YES on Amendment 1 on November 5th. Amendment 1 is a proposed constitutional amendment that seeks to make school board elections partisan once again. This change would amend Article IX, Section 4 of the Florida Constitution to replace “nonpartisan” with “partisan” for district school board elections starting in 2026.
Amendment 1 aims to bring greater transparency and accountability to school boards within Florida’s public education system. By making school board elections partisan, voters would have a clearer understanding of each candidate’s values and policy positions, allowing them to make informed choices when selecting those who shape education policies affecting children and communities across the state.
Prior to 1998, Florida held partisan school board elections. Amendment 1 seeks to restore this practice, reflecting the reality that many voters already consider party affiliation in their voting decisions.
With a “YES” vote on Amendment 1, Floridians can help bring transparency and accountability back to school board elections. The change would empower voters to better understand who is shaping educational policy.

They actively work to ban library books.

You bring up the “pedos” after defending a post from a group who’s “co-founder faces calls for resignation from school board amid sex scandal” and when the most high profile “pedo” case in Alachua County is about one of the main movers behind Newberry’s Charter School.
That’s old news. Today’s news is the arrest of a PE teacher at a Christian School in Marion County for sending “inappropriate” pictures to a student he wanted to date.

Serious question – what is the worst that this would do? Is it just making candidates complete in primaries ahead of the general elections?
George, instead of candidates expressing their opinion on the various complex issues school boards have to navigate, they can just announce their tribe and automatically have votes for and against. Hopefully our elected members have educational backgrounds and are guided by bigger issues than library books and other knee jerk cultural wars.
