Motorcyclist killed in Alachua crash

ALACHUA, Fla. – A 50-year-old Gainesville man was killed yesterday when his motorcycle was involved in a crash with a pickup truck.

At about 7:30 p.m. on October 16, there was a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck on U.S. Hwy 441 near Publix in Alachua. The driver of the motorcycle, a 50-year-old man from Gainesville, was killed in the crash; he was wearing a helmet. The pickup truck was driven by a 56-year-old Alachua woman; she was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt.

The crash is still under investigation.

  • Came by about an hour afterwards appears someone may have ran a red light the truck looked like it was turning south and the bike was on 441 going south

  • Oh no… prayers to the deceased and family and also to the woman in the truck. Someone dying in an accident and being involved is horrific.
