Newberry City Commissioner Tim Marden endorses Marshall Rawson for State Representative

Press release from Marshall Rawson for Florida Representative

HAMPTON, Fla. — Today, Marshall Rawson, candidate for State Representative in Florida’s House District 10, announced the endorsement of Newberry City Commissioner Tim Marden.

“I’m honored to give my endorsement and support to Marshall Rawson in his race for the Florida House,” said City Commissioner Tim Marden. “Marshall is passionate, hardworking, and a fearless conservative who won’t back down from the fight for what’s right in Tallahassee. I have no doubt that he will work relentlessly as our State Representative to lower property taxes, defend life, safeguard our rural farmlands, and keep our state leading the nation.”

Marden is a current City Commissioner, longtime Floridian, mentor, community volunteer, and former business owner and youth coach. During his tenure on the City Commission, Newberry residents have seen reduced taxes and debt, community growth, and renewed infrastructure. In addition to his commitment to public service, Commissioner Marden works as a National Development Officer for The John Birch Society, an organization dedicated to preserving American freedom, independence, and our God-given rights.

“Thank you to City Commissioner Tim Marden for your statement of support and faith in my leadership,” said candidate Marshall Rawson. “We both believe in smaller government, upholding the God-given liberties we have under our Constitution, and preserving the Florida that we love for the next generation. I’m proud that this is just the first of many endorsements coming from leaders across our state and community who know that I have what it takes to fight for House District 10 in Tallahassee and keep our state the Free State of Florida.”

Marshall Rawson is a native Floridian and owns and operates Free State Growers, an agricultural business. Previously, Marshall has served as a Washington aide and intern to Republican Congressman Paul Broun, legal assistant to Secretary of State Cord Byrd, and as a legal intern for the Florida Department of Agriculture. A dedicated citizen-leader, he has also been an advocate across Florida for various issues, including immigration reform, state sovereignty, and agriculture. Marshall is the past Chairman of the Greater Melrose Republican Liberty Caucus and currently serves as the North Florida Regional Director of the Republican Liberty Caucus. He also serves in the Florida Guard and has been deployed to the Texas border to help stop illegal immigration. Marshall and his wife Megan have been married for almost 8 years and have four children.

  • Is Rawson such a “fearless, small government conservative” that he opposes the Farm Bill and other agricultural government welfare, like the Ag exemption for real estate taxes? I’m guessing not. Usually to this crew, “small government” means smaller government for everyone else, but not for them.

    • Marshal Rawson is a principled man who I’ve known since around 2015. Marshal actually believes in true small government.

  • Tim Marden’s John Birch Society thinks the Civil War was Lincoln’s fault, so throw out the idea that he is “conservative”. He’s a radical right winger.

What that says about this candidate is anyone’s guess.
