  • Here is a Solution to Vehicles that Ignore or Fail to see Motorcycles, turning in their Right of Way and ending like this. Play a Game with your Kids anytime you are driving and tell them to Look for Motorcycles, like punch buggy without punching, train them Today to be More Aware and Alert to Motorcycles and they will become better drivers looking first, before taking someone’s life. We can do this and make this a Rare event and not so Common. In 1980 a Drunk Driver did same thing to Me but I barely survived. And Drivers, Motorcycles don’t Stop as Fast as You Think they Do. Prayers to family

    • First, did you read the story? The dirt bike ran into the truck, not the other way around.

Second, I’m lost with the “Watch Out for Motorcycles” crowd. If you want to elect to drive a much more dangerous mode of transportation, knock yourself out. But don’t try to shift the burden of your decision back onto everyone else.

    • This was a dirt bike [off-road vehicle] being ridden on the shoulder. It is unlikely that the motorcycle was equipped with a headlamp. ‘According to a release from the Florida Highway Patrol, at about 8:30 p.m.’ This crash occurred after dusk. The motorcycle was in an area not normally scanned for traffic, it was after dark and the bike likely was not running a headlamp. My sympathies and prayers are extended to everyone involved.

  • Riding a dirt bike along the shoulder of a major hwy or state road after dark is illegal. Even the grassy area is illegal if public property. This accident is unfortunate and tragic but was avoidable. Prayers to all involved.
