Nighttime ramp detours at I-75 and U.S. 441 planned for March 29 through April 2

Press release from the Florida Department of Transportation

ALACHUA, Fla. – As part of ongoing milling and paving operations on U.S. 441 in the city of Alachua, overnight detours at the I‑75 interchange are necessary for resurfacing work from Sunday, March 29, through Thursday, April 2, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.

Closures are scheduled nightly from 6 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. from Sunday, March 29, through Thursday, April 2:

  • U.S. 441 ramp to I‑75 North closed: Drivers will follow posted detour signs along NW 173rd Street to access the next available northbound entrance to I‑75.
  • U.S. 441 ramp to I‑75 South closed: Drivers will detour via NW 173rd Street or NW 140th Street and follow signage to reach an alternate southbound on‑ramp.
  • I‑75 South ramp to U.S. 441 closed: Drivers will continue south and follow the posted detour signs to access U.S. 441.

Drivers should plan for delays and follow all posted detour signs through the work zone.

  • I feel sorry for the ones wanting to go north and having to travel on 173rd (235A). Be prepared to blow a tire or having to shell out for a front end alignment. It’s one of the worst roads around and it’s not scheduled to be worked on it until 2028.
