No injuries after bucket truck crashes into a guardrail on I-75

Staff report based on Florida Highway Patrol release

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – There were no injuries after a bucket truck crashed into a guardrail today on I-75, blocking all northbound lanes.

At about 3:58 p.m., the bucket truck, operated by a 36-year-old Miami man, collided with the center guardrail about a mile north of the Newberry Road exit (mile marker 388) and turned over. The vehicle blocked all the northbound lanes as a result of the incident. The operator was not injured.

  • First a motorhome that blew a tire and ended up in the woods.. then a dump truck crashes into a bridge, now a bucket truck hits a guard rail. So many crashed on I75, the road of death. Perhaps the speed limit should be lowered to 60-65 mph and enforced while traveling through Alachua county. Very large vehicles doing 70-80 mph is just not safe. Bad things happen exponentially faster with just a few mph more speed.
