O-Town Compost to offer free 2.5-gallon kitchen caddy to Alachua County residents on Feb. 21

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – O-Town Compost will be at the Alachua County Rural Collection Centers on Saturday, February 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., distributing free Kitchen Caddies to Alachua County residents. This initiative aims to encourage residents to divert food scraps and organic waste from the landfill by participating in composting efforts.
Residents who participate will receive a Kitchen Caddy, along with compostable bags, which can be used to collect and store food scraps at home. Once the caddy is full, residents are encouraged to transport their organic materials to designated bins available at the Rural Collection Centers for proper disposal and composting.
