October 7 School Board of Alachua County meeting

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The School Board of Alachua County will hold a business meeting at 6 p.m. on October 7.

DATE AND TIME: Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 6 p.m.

LOCATION: District Office Boardroom, 620 E. University Ave, Gainesville, FL.

PURPOSE: Regular business meeting

There are two options for requesting an opportunity to speak at a School Board meeting:
1) Complete an online Speaker Request Form that will be available at https://alachuaschools.net/publiccomment for 24 hours before the meeting begins;
or
2) Complete a paper version of the Speaker Request Form, which will be available in the Boardroom 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the meeting.

All forms, online and paper, must be completed and submitted before the meeting begins.
Input regarding School Board meeting items can also be submitted through email at issues@alachuaschools.net by noon of the day of the meeting.

  • I’ve heard that there’s a great candidate available for permanent ACSB superintendant who recently left Des Moines Iowa for purely personal reasons. No need to bother over his bonafides, he would be a great catch for Alachua County from a much bigger place like Des Moines; even better, he would be a perfect fit!

    • I’m CERTAIN they’re circling the wagons around her AND The Childrens Trust (or should I say MISTRUST)?

  • I just wish that one time the welfare of the children would be discussed. Curriculum. Reading, math, art, health and exercise.
    How to interact with people of all ages. Mental health. Ahh Silly me. Their salary is more important. And don’t forget their political leanings.

    • Mary, Mary, Mary…we all know that this is almost always about the SBAC members and not your children (seriosly – you’re absolutely right. I couldn’t help myself).
