Okito America expanding to second location

Press release from Okito America
With afterschool programs, summer camps, dance classes, and birthday parties, Okito America offers more than just martial arts, and now there’s more Okito America.
After 15 years building a loyal customer base and becoming the most successful martial arts and childcare facility in Alachua County, locally-owned Okito America is expanding with a second location in The Shops of Newberry at 7420 W. Newberry Road.
A second location, with almost 7,500 sq. ft., is great news for the number of students who are on the waiting list for Okito’s afterschool program and martial arts classes. The second location will offer Okito space to accommodate new students as well as its roster of 350 students, who attend the afterschool programs, school break camps, martial arts classes, birthday parties, dance classes, and special events like Parents Night Out and holiday parties. The new location will operate concurrently with the original location at 6900 Archer Rd to serve its current and future students.
“I am elated to get this opportunity to expand the Okito America brand and offer our unique blend of services to even more students in Alachua County. Our team works extremely hard to provide each student with a place to build confidence through achievement, and their success is reflective of the number of students we have in our classes, as well as those waiting to get in,” Okito owner Orlando Milan said. “I cannot express my gratitude and admiration for every person who has worked with us to make this dream a reality, and I can’t thank the people and parents of Gainesville enough for supporting our mission.”
With construction already underway, Okito’s second location will open in the early fall. The venture is a collaboration between Avison Young and Coldwell Banker MM Parrish, along with Gain Capital. The new location is expected to bring in at least 20 new jobs to the community. Interested teachers and childcare professionals should watch Okito’s website and social media pages for more information about applying. Until then, they will continue to serve the Gainesville community with their award-winning Summer Camp, which is open now for registration.
Okito America Martial Arts opened in 2007 with a vision of improving the lives of families in Alachua County. They provide an environment conducive to positive relationships, fostering self-discipline, self-confidence, and self-respect. Learn more about Okito America at www.okitoamerica.com.
