Old-fashioned Christmas Tree Lighting in High Springs on December 2

Press release from High Springs Chamber of Commerce

HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – The High Springs Chamber of Commerce will hold a big old-fashioned Norman Rockwell Christmas tree lighting with a special story time for the children of Polar Express including Christmas train crafts, train rides, a special visit from Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, a live nativity scene, and carolers.

The tree lighting will be at 5 p.m. on December 2 at the corner of Railroad Avenue and Main Street in downtown High Springs.

We will have a photographer available if you would like to take that perfect family picture in front of the Christmas tree or of your children on Santa’s lap, just in time to send out with your Christmas cards.

There will be hot chocolate, along with a vendor offering hot apple cider and roasted chestnuts as we ring in this wonderful time of the year.

It is also a time to remember all our blessings who come from the Lord. We will have a blessing tree for all who pass by to write on one of the ornaments something you are thankful for. The Lord is truly good all the time.

Christmas is friends and neighbors coming together in a shared experience creating memories that last a lifetime as we celebrate the birth of Jesus!

It will be a wonderful evening, one you don’t want to miss.

  • This sounds like a nice event, and it’s refreshing to read about a non-religious organization bringing Christianity and the birth of the Savior into the public square. It’s great when churches do this, of course, but I’m saying that this is especially great, because it’s unexpected. Thank you, Alachua Chronicle, for sharing this PR.

  • The High Springs Chamber of Commerce works so hard to make this a special event. All are volunteers who love their City.
