One dead in Sunday morning accident on Archer Road

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – One person is dead after a Sunday morning car accident at the intersection of SW Archer Road and SW 13th Street.

The three-vehicle accident occurred at 8:18 a.m. Gainesville Police Department Traffic Homicide Investigators determined that the driver of a Mazda 6 sedan rear-ended a Lexus SUV, which then crashed into the back of a Ford F-250 pickup. The vehicles were all in the eastbound left-hand turn lane. The driver of the pickup was not injured. The driver of the Lexus suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. The driver of the Mazda died at the hospital.
