One killed, two transported to the hospital following Alachua County I-75 crash
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A man was killed and two Tennessee residents were transported to the hospital after a crash at mile marker 374 on I-75 today.
At about 3:08 p.m., a Subaru sedan was traveling south in the middle lane and a Ford box truck was traveling the same direction in the inside lane. The driver of the Subaru lost control of the vehicle and collided with the truck, causing the truck to hit a guardrail. The Subaru overturned on the outside shoulder of I-75 and hit a tree.
The driver of the Subaru was pronounced deceased at the scene; his age and city were not provided by Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). The passengers of the Subaru, a female from Signal Mountain, TN, and a male from South Pittsburgh, TN, suffered minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital. The release from FHP states that none of the occupants of the Subaru were wearing seatbelts.
The driver of the truck, a 29-year-old Gainesville man, was not injured; he was reportedly wearing a seatbelt.
Omg…may God be with them all for healing. Prayers up.
Perhaps Jesus should have taken the wheel and there would have been no crash!
Box truck should not have been in the far left lane. Seriously, who was he passing? Subaru driving straight in the middle lane and “lost control” more is in this story.
