One man dead, two people trauma-alerted in overnight crashes

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A 77-year-old man was killed and two others were trauma-alerted to local hospitals after two separate crashes overnight in Gainesville, according to Gainesville Police Department.
At about 3:30 a.m., a sedan hit a pickup truck near the 1300 block of SW 16th Avenue. The truck then hit a second sedan and subsequently caught fire. The drivers of the first sedan and the pickup truck were trauma-alerted to a local hospital; no information is available about the other driver or any passengers.
At about 6:30 a.m., an RV towing a pickup truck hit a tree for unknown reasons in the 100 block of NW 34th Street. The driver, a 77-year-old man, was pronounced deceased at the scene; a passenger in the RV was not transported to the hospital.
Both incidents are still being investigated.
77 year old man… 630 am Sunday.. RV towing a pickup…. this is a bull gator leaving an RV lot on campus after the game. this sounds like he had a medical issue while driving.
