One patient transported to the hospital after single-vehicle crash on I-75
Press release from Alachua County Fire Rescue
MICANOPY, Fla. – This morning around 8:30 a.m., units from Alachua County Fire Rescue and Micanopy Fire Rescue received a report of a vehicle accident on I-75 at the 377 Mile Marker. Upon arrival, crews found a single occupant entrapped in a small SUV with heavy damage to the front and driver’s side. Units on scene utilized Hydraulic Cutters and Spreaders to free the occupant from the compromised vehicle. The vehicle was barely visible from the roadway after traveling into the woodline and striking several large trees. Crews worked quickly to stabilize the patient before transport to the local trauma center.
ACFR would like to remind everyone to always wear a seatbelt, obey the posted speed limit, and move over for emergency vehicles.
Seeing this scares me. I worry about my family members! Seat belts are uncomfortabe and restricting but they DO SAVE LIVES. AND people dont give right away to emergency vehicles! In some states you would find yourself behind bars for not moving over!
