GAINESVILLE, Fla. – One person was ejected from a vehicle yesterday and transported to the hospital as a trauma alert after a crash between a car and a U-Haul truck.
At about 5 p.m. on December 2, Gainesville Fire Rescue (GFR) units responded to a crash between a passenger car and a U-Haul truck in the 11900 block of NW CR 231; the caller said one person was ejected from a vehicle and there was a fuel leak. Alachua County Fire Rescue units also responded and worked alongside GFR units to provide medical care to the ejected patient, who was transported as a trauma alert.
A GFR unit applied a temporary patch to the leaking fuel tank, and a GFR Hazmat unit conducted a remote pump-off, removing 30 gallons of fuel from the compromised pump and preventing the fuel from leaking into the ground.
Were seat belts being worn?
FHP reports that information for crashes they investigate, but GPD does not.
Ejected = not restrained (no seatbelt).
From,
An ER trauma nurse
Yeah an if your an ER nurse you should have more sympathy as the victim died and her daughter works in that hospital and was there when her mother was brought in.
Prayers for the victims
Prayers for the victims. Heard about this on the scanner.
Meanwhile…., on the scanner,, whilst this happened,,,,
AC needs to update us on the shots fired situation over on NW 4th. Subway on university avenue by checkers and BOA caught some surveillance of the suspects.
GPD also found spent shell casings, and they had perimeters set up looking for the shooters.
It was kinda serious.
