One person shot in Archer last night

Staff report

ARCHER, Fla. – Shortly before 10 p.m. last night, Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call regarding a person being shot inside his home in the 15000 block of SW 170th Street in the Archer area. Upon arrival, they found a 24-year-old male with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No arrests have been made at this point, and the investigation is ongoing.

  • Don’t mess with Archer. Dey B bustin caps in your azz if you be dissin em. Must have been one of those Biden supremacist’s the democraps keep trying to sell us.

  • Speaking of small towns, Biden announced $40 billion for high speed internet across the states today. Think about it – that is a benefit for Trump land, not blue areas which already have high speed internet. While DeSantis and Cammarack blast him everyday – there job is not supposed to campaigning everyday but working for results – and Cammarack ran on expanding internet, and then voted against the bill establishing this program, dollars to donuts they will both brag about it if the money is delivered to the states to implement the program.

High speed internet is a now necessary utility for Americans everywhere to keep up and this effort is a similar, if not quite as critical, effort as the rural electrification programs of the 1930s, and the main beneficiaries of it will be those areas that overwhelmingly voted for Trump.

    • You must have missed the story about DeSantis allocating like $6 million (I think that was the figure) for Alachua County’s high speed internet access in rural areas. The broke blue states that always have their hands out should appreciate Biden’s help.

      • Where do you think DeSantis got the money?

“The town of Micanopy received nearly $3 million to bolster broadband internet access, which is affordable high-speed internet options Aug. 22. The funding is part of the Community Development Block Grant coronavirus program, which is overseen by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.

The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, which distributed $5 billion nationwide for the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act. …”

        Thank you President Biden.

By the way, Biden counties accounted for 70% of GDP in 2021, Trump counties, 30%, and of the top ten states that receive more federal taxes then they pay, 4 of the top 5 are red and 7 of the top 10.

        • GDP includes “government spending.” That’s actually a big part of it. Of course those blue counties are high for government spending. Aside from Silicon Valley and an few other places, most don’t produce anything of real value (to export).

    • We have to move all the way out of internet range to try and get away from you dumbocrats

  • The retaliatory shooting will probably go down by Tuesday night, latest.

  • How did we go from a shooting to discussing broadband and internet service. Was the shooting over who has better internet in the neighborhood? Probably not, more likely someone ripping someone off or some other BS reason.
