Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – One person was trauma-alerted to a local hospital this afternoon after a single-vehicle accident with entrapment on I-75.
At about 4:04 p.m., units from Alachua County Fire Rescue and Gainesville Fire Rescue responded to a single-vehicle accident at the southbound 384 mile marker. Crews found a vehicle on its side, with a single occupant trapped inside; they deployed rescue tools and extricated the victim within 15 minutes. The victim was trauma-alerted to a local hospital.
Alachua County reminds everyone to wear a seatbelt; it could save your life.
Prayers that the victim recovers fully. God bless our first responders for their hard work!
I-75 is getting so congested at times that I predict in 10 years it will be mostly unusable.
Thanks to the prompt and efficient action of our heroic first responders and the fact that he was wearing his seatbelt, he is recovering at home with only injuries.
