GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Our Revolution, the national progressive organization that grew out of the movement built by U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign, has endorsed Antione Fields for Florida House District 21 as the five-way Democratic primary enters its final days.

In announcing the endorsement, Our Revolution highlighted Fields’ career fighting for voting rights and working families; his commitment to lowering the cost of housing, health care, insurance, child care, and groceries; and his pledge to reject corporate PAC and lobbyist money.

“Florida House District 21 deserves a representative who will fight for working people, protect our democracy, and stand up to entrenched interests,” Our Revolution said in its endorsement. “Antione Fields has spent his career doing exactly that, and he’ll bring those same values to the state capitol in Tallahassee.”

Our Revolution also highlighted Fields’ commitment to protecting Florida’s springs and aquifer, preserving farmland, stopping reckless development, and calling for a moratorium on AI data centers until meaningful protections are established for Florida’s water, workers, privacy, and local communities.

The national endorsement comes as Fields earns new support from across Florida’s progressive movement, including the Democratic Environmental Caucus of Florida, Marion County Young Democrats, and longtime civil rights activist and Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee veteran Dr. Gwendolyn Zoharah Simmons.

“I’m incredibly proud to have Our Revolution standing with us in this fight,” Fields said. “This campaign has always been about building a movement of ordinary people who are ready to take on a political system where corporate PACs, lobbyists, and special interests have too much power and working people have too little.”

Fields said the growing coalition reflects the kind of movement he hopes to bring to Tallahassee.

“We have civil rights leaders, environmental advocates, young Democrats, union members, local elected officials, and grassroots progressives coming together because they believe Florida can do better,” Fields said. “We’re building this campaign without corporate PAC or lobbyist money, and I’m honored to have this coalition standing with us as we fight to put working people back at the center of our politics.”

Fields is an Ocala-raised progressive organizer, union member, and former Florida House legislative aide who currently works in the voting rights and democracy movement. His campaign has focused on lowering costs for working families, protecting public education and Florida’s natural resources, defending voting and privacy rights, and reducing the influence of corporate money in state government.

Early voting is underway ahead of the August 18 primary election for Florida House District 21.
