Pair arrested after DoorDash customer said driver’s friend pointed a gun at her

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Calista Nicole Crenshaw, 26, of Micanopy, and Jaquez De’onte Keith, 27, of Alachua, were arrested yesterday after Crenshaw allegedly pointed a gun at a woman after an argument over a DoorDash delivery; she and Keith allegedly hid the gun.

At about 11:55 a.m. on March 25, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to Brittany Estates, where the victim said she had ordered food through DoorDash, and she and the driver, listed as “Jacquez,” had exchanged messages in the DoorDash application because the food was not delivered. The victim said she dropped a pin, and he arrived at that location.

When the order arrived, an argument arose between the victim, Keith, and Crenshaw, who was a passenger in Keith’s car. During the argument, the victim took out her cell phone to make a video, and the deputy reported that the video showed Crenshaw taking a black handgun from the passenger side of the vehicle and brandishing it at the victim while yelling at her. The victim said she was in fear for her safety because of the gun.

Crenshaw reportedly got into the driver’s seat of the vehicle and drove away without Keith; Keith reportedly walked away. The deputy noted that Keith was not found in Brittany Estates, so it was presumed that Crenshaw picked him up before law enforcement arrived.

Other deputies met with Crenshaw and Keith at One Fifty One Apartments (15100 NW 150th Ct) in Alachua, and post Miranda, both suspects reportedly said that after the incident with the victim, they agreed to go to Keith’s uncle’s residence, where Keith went inside and left the gun on a table. The uncle reportedly gave consent for deputies to collect the firearm, which was confirmed to be the same gun displayed in the incident.

Crenshaw has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, tampering with evidence, and improperly exhibiting a firearm. She has no criminal convictions, and Judge Meshon Rawls ordered her held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s Office to hold her without bail until trial. On March 31, Judge Denise Ferrero denied the motion and set bail at $50,000, with conditions that Crenshaw have no contact with the victim, have no contact with Keith, and possess no firearms or weapons.

Keith has been charged with tampering with evidence. He has no criminal convictions, and Judge Rawls ordered him released on his own recognizance.
