Pedestrian killed in Butler Plaza parking lot

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – At about 3:30 p.m. this afternoon, Gainesville Police Department officers responded to a call about a hit-and-run crash with injuries in the area of 3300 Clark Butler Blvd. Upon their arrival, officers located a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle, which fled the scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a green Hyundai entered a parking lot at a high rate of speed and struck the pedestrian. The adult male pedestrian was transported to UF Health Shands, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Traffic Homicide investigators are actively conducting follow-up on this incident.
That is terrible. Horrible for the victim’s family.
They need too catch this yoyo and put him away for negligent homicide and hit and run. Good luck GPD.
I’m sick of bad drivers and hope the asshole is caught, convicted and put in prison to be tortured by other bad drivers.
This goes way beyond “bad driver”.

People running through red lights and speeding in parking lots are a danger to everyone.
Condolences to the family but I can’t help but wonder if the city is going to require Butler Enterprises to put speed bumps in all the parking lots now.
