GAINESVILLE, Fla. – This morning, Gainesville Fire Rescue extracted a driver who had been trapped in a difficult-to-reach area of a creek bed since last night. The team’s training and experience paid off as they navigated the challenges of the environment to bring the driver to safety. The driver was transported in stable condition.

  • Great work fire department and emt department. Hope the patient will be ok.

  • Not sure how a car gets down there unless he/she intentionally drove it down there.

  • TV20 said it’s near Williston Rd at SE 16th Ave, maybe that’s Sweetwater Creek? Could have happened during recent thunderstorm, bad visibility maybe.
