The City of Gainesville is holding a special election to fill the vacancy of the City Commissioner At-Large, Seat B.Â
Qualifying for this seat begins at 12 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, and concludes at 12 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 16, with early voting available Friday, Nov. 12-Sunday, Nov. 14.

Memo to Gainesville Republicans, conservatives, and Trumpkins:
Enter and run at least one of your own in this city race, or STFU and quit whining “there is nothing but liburls and Democrats on the city commission.” If you do not run a candidate it shows you really don’t care but just like to whine. Enter a candidate or two and in the debates explain to the citizens why the Republican conservative view would be better for Gainesville. Offer a different view.
You’ve got it backwards. We’re not whining, we’re complaining. Whining is what liberal idiots like yourself do. Isn’t that all you idiots did when there was a republican president? Isn’t that all you do since there is a republican governor? Hell, you did that before they were even elected.
Just sit there reeking of your hypocrisy and enjoy all the free stuff you either can’t afford or too lazy to earn for yourself. Or just do what you and your liberal leadership has done to improve the lives of Gainesville residents…NOTHING. After all, you’re best at what requires the least amount of exertion on your part and requires the least amount of effort… believing.
