WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Cammack issued the following statement as the House of Representatives passed H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, to deliver President Trump’s agenda for the American people early this morning.
“The One Big Beautiful Bill Act keeps House Republicans’ promise to the American people and delivers President Trump’s agenda. We’ve worked for months on this bill, working together to deliver the best package for the American people that puts our nation’s safety, security, and economic prosperity first. We’re delivering on our promises to secure the border, make generational investments in our nation’s defense, unleash America’s energy potential to lower costs, avoid the largest tax increase in U.S. history for American families, strengthen Medicaid to ensure it serves its intended population, and eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse from the federal government.
“I’m proud to share that components of my signature legislative priority—the REINS Act—are included in H.R. 1, requiring congressional approval of major executive branch rules that increase federal spending. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to restore Article I power back to the legislative branch and stop the rampant regulatory regime from running wild. No language drains the swamp, empowers the people, or puts as much money back in Americans’ pockets as REINS. When many believed it couldn’t be included in this historic legislation, we worked hard to find a viable path forward to secure these necessary reforms for Florida’s Third and the American people.

Clearly we have a group of people who can’t read, or choose not to. This bill will help more than it will hurt, especially for your kids. To hate is one thing, to be ignorant is another. Not to sit here and argue but here it is:
1. Extension of the tax cuts — makes for lower personal income tax rates and higher deductions. Also, higher standard child tax credit.
2. The bill should boost the long term GDP by a half % or so while creating over a million jobs. Small business deduction goes up and bonus depreciation which will incentivize business investment.
3. The no tax on tips and overtime. I would love to hear the input on the restaurant service workers and other hard workers that regularly go overtime to help their company/business. I am sure the extra money in their pocket would be welcomed.
4. The SALT deduction cap, while not super helpful in florida will benefit most people in high-tax states by allowing them to dedxuct more state and local taxes on their federal returns.
5. Cutting medacaid and SNAP, yes a lot of people will lose their free healthcare and food stamps which may actually hurt some but it takes less from the pockets of the ones that do put in an effort. I have had a full time job for over the last 30 years, I have given my fair share to system abusers.
It takes money to make money, those without will argue the most but overall this will help more for the general good. It is the people with the outstretched hand hoping for a freebie that will be insulted the most. Most of them being capable workers that choose not to since their government check covers their needs and they are happy with. No desire to better themselves or the world we live in.
We are the only civilized country in the world without universal healthcare and also the most expensive place in the world for health care. Our outcomes and patient satisfaction are middle of the road. Employer based health insurance is a drag on economic activity as many keep jobs they don’t like or are overqualified for to stay insured. This terrible bill will reward those who had the front row at his inauguration and who visit Maralago regularly while many red state MAGA voters who bust their ass nailing off shingles and pouring concrete are about to lose their access to Medicaid when needed.
People like “guest” think they deserve a medal for doing what most of us do, then kisses the ass of the Musks and Trump of the world while blaming the powerless and those less fortunate for the nations problems. And no, rich guy tax cuts do not pay off except to those who receive them and research and history shows this. At best about 1/3 of what is lost in revenue is regained by heightened economic activity. This bill is a pay off to Trump’s club and a kick in the face to those most in need in America and a burden on the rest of us through the additions to the debt.
Canada just extended assisted suicide “care” to MINORS with mental illness — without parental consent! Because the waiting time is shorter that way. They even issued a brochure saying that!

Given we democrats have won the popular vote in 7 of the last 9 presidential elections and one of the 2 the GOP won – the last one – they did not win the majority of votes and won by 1.5%, you’re dreaming.
