WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congresswoman Kat Cammack (FL-03) introduced a resolution to strengthen the security and integrity of the U.S. House of Representatives by requiring criminal background checks and foreign influence disclosures for all House employees. Currently, background checks and foreign disclosures are NOT REQUIRED by the House of Representatives.
This commonsense measure will protect Congress from potential secruity risks, promote transparency regarding dual citizenship and financial ties, and establish uniform standards across all offices. By ensuring thorough vetting of House personnel, this resolution reinforces our commitment to accountability and the safety of our institution.
“Protecting the People’s House begins with ensuring that those who work within it are thoroughly vetted and free from foreign influence. The American people have a right to know who is working on their behalf,” said Congresswoman Cammack. “This resolution is a vital step in upholding congressional integrity by ensuring every employee meets the highest standards of trust, transparency, and accountability.”

There are numerous “fact checks” that say Pelosi doesn’t have the authority to block a National Guard deployment, which is just playing with words. She didn’t block it, but she also pushed back on offers to deploy the National Guard.
