Rep. Cammack leads FL colleagues in letter requesting clean supplemental appropriations bill to replenish Disaster Relief Fund

Press release from the Office of Representative Kat Cammack
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Today, Congresswoman Kat Cammack (FL-03) led a letter with House members of the Florida congressional delegation, urging House and Senate leadership to support a clean supplemental appropriations bill to replenish the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Disaster Relief Fund (DRF) and to help those affected by recent natural disasters, including Hurricane Idalia, recover.
Hurricane Idalia made landfall as a Category 3 storm on Wednesday, August 30, damaging homes, businesses, and agricultural lands around the Florida Gulf Coast’s Big Bend region. While damage estimates are still being calculated for the hardest hit areas, residents of North Central and Northwest Florida will be in rebuild and recover mode for the next several weeks and months. With recent natural disasters across the United States, remaining FEMA funds will not be enough to support recovery efforts for Hurricane Idalia, the wildfires in Hawaii, and others.
The Members’ letter asks funding for these natural disasters not be tied to additional funding for Ukraine or other supplemental requests to ensure assistance is swift and sufficient for Americans affected by these incidents.
Joining Rep. Cammack on the letter are Florida Reps. Dunn, Buchanan, Lee, Webster, Mast, Bilirakis, Luna, Donalds, Gaetz, Waltz, Gimenez, Posey, Mills, Salazar, and Bean.

I wish our government would STOP giving OUR tax $$billions$$ to other countries.🤬🤬🤬🫏💩🫏💩🫏💩🫏💩
In the past, we usually gave away money, plus our service people. Bush jr the retarded, started the Middle East endless war to impress his Daddy, and was eagerly supported by Obama and Biden. Trump was the one who wanted out, but was prevented by, you guessed it, the Democrats.
Second term in congress and she has done NOTHING for the people of her district.
If you count photo ops, signing useless letters created by some other politician, grand openings, she has not drafted and had passed ONE piece of legislation!
A BIG disappointment to those of us who once again fell for the lies of the politically ambitious.
She sure has done NOTHING for her constituents.
Like everything else she does, grandstanding that will lead nowhere. Then she parades around acting like she’s responsible for federal funds for things like rural internet, which she actually opposed.
