Rep. Chuck Clemons endorses Chad Johnson for House District 22 seat

Press release from Chad Johnson, Republican, for State Representative

CHIEFLAND, Fla. – Levy County Commissioner Chad Johnson, candidate for State Representative District 22, announced the endorsement of Rep. Chuck Clemons, Speaker pro tempore of the Florida House of Representatives. Johnson is running to succeed Rep. Clemons, who is term-limited.

“Chad Johnson’s strong ties to the region and deep understanding of the various communities that make District 22 so unique make him the right candidate to carry on our hard work in the legislature,” said Speaker Clemons. “Chad is a proven leader who will tirelessly fight for free markets, limited government, and private property rights for all Floridians. It is my pleasure to endorse him and to ask others in our district to support him in this effort.”

A Newberry Republican, Rep. Chuck Clemons was first elected to the Florida House in 2016 and has been subsequently re-elected. He has been a noted and respected leader on economic development, education, transportation, and agriculture and has been a huge player in the effort to brand the Sunshine State as the Free State of Florida.

“It is a high honor to have Speaker Chuck Clemons’ endorsement,” said Chad Johnson. “I look forward to following in his footsteps in the Florida House as a champion for common sense, freedom, and agriculture. Floridians in Gilchrist, Levy, and Alachua counties can count on me to serve them with the same unwavering dedication and commitment shown by Speaker Clemons.”

As a 6th generation Floridian, Chad was born and raised in Alachua County, with family in Gilchrist and Marion counties. He is a University of Florida graduate with a degree in Food and Resource Economics. Chad and his wife Angela reside in Levy County and have four children. He is a tried-and-true community leader, formerly serving as a Levy County Commissioner, president of the Levy County Farm Bureau and the Florida Association of Auctioneers, and on the Dixie-Gilchrist-Levy Board of REALTORS®. Chad will always defend the policies that keep Florida free and also fight to protect District 22’s quality of life and natural resources.

  • Sure, why not have the next gerrymandered rep for diced up Gainesville and Alachua come from it’s bedroom community/farm country? I live 2 miles from the city limits and my rep is in MaClenny. The GOP has neutered Alachua County and Gainesville and then use that power to take over it’s property and the 2 biggest traitors are Clemons and Perry.

  • Follow the campaign money trail. You’ll see who he has been bought off by.
    Paid for politician, how cozy.

  • When the establishment of Tallahassee “leadership” tries to clear the field (promising Woody support for CC run) and endorse in primaries, it never works out well. They must want to keep the crazy MAGA woman out of their boys’ club.
