Reps. Cammack & Soto introduce the Deploying American Blockchains Act of 2025

Press release from U.S. Rep. Kat Cammack

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL-03) and Rep. Darren Soto (D-FL-09) introduced the Deploying American Blockchains Act of 2025.

The bill directs the Secretary of Commerce to serve as the president’s principal advisor for policy pertaining to the deployment, use, application, and competitiveness of blockchain technology or other distributed ledger technology, applications built on blockchain technology, or other distributed ledger technology, tokens, and tokenization. Additionally, the bill directs Commerce to establish a Blockchain Deployment Program at the Department.

“Blockchain is an evolving technology that is changing daily,” said Rep. Kat Cammack. “Understanding the power of blockchain technology and how we can leverage it to support our economy, national security, and more is critical. I’m proud to continue the work of developing blockchain tech with the House Energy & Commerce Committee.”

“I’m proud to work with Rep. Cammack on common-sense, bipartisan legislation to strengthen U.S. competitiveness in the blockchain space,” said Rep. Darren Soto. “Our bill will ensure that the Department of Commerce focuses on developing these technologies to help our country remain a leader and ahead of the curve.”

  • Cammack should introduce Bills that make Trump’s Executive Orders into Law. This is ridiculous. About as brilliant as that idiot introducing a Bill to place Trump’s face on the $100.

    • Let’s put trumps face on the $1 bill, and put Obama & Biden on the Penney, then get rid of the Penney

    • Maybe some polite phone calls to her office to that effect would help focus her on that.
I’m going to try that tactic today.

  • Interesting. I had to look that one up. Blockchain was not in my vocabulary until this morning!

  • Hey AG lady; farmers in the Midwest have no idea what to plant this spring due to tariffs and cuts to USAID – I was hoping you would at least have an idea unlike Musk and Trump how much planning goes into every season. Another whole industry down the tubes and you introduce BS nobody has ever heard of.

  • Let’s see what Kat’s role in destroying Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid does for her career. Should prevent her from being re-elected.

      • She’s sitting on her hands while Elmo runs amuck across one federal agency after another, including SS. The goal if you haven’t gotten it yet, is justifying another tax cut going primarily to the rich guys. This all illegal since Congress funded and created by law these agencies and the president doesn’t have the right to assign someone to end them.

Kat the Twit is ignoring her responsibility as a member of Congress to press her leadership to stop this BS.

        • Try to respond . How is kat destroying social security?? Don’t give us one of your boring demons. Answer the question.

  • Blockchain technology is the basis of cryptocurrencies and increasingly other “trust-based” exchanges. It supports large markets and consumes huge amounts of electricity. It makes sense for Commerce Dept to be involved, but whether this act is necessary for that, I don’t know.

  • Whatever happened to her hardcore Republican values of “government deregulation?” This bill authorizes more regulation. Is she a hypocrite?

  • The world is changing rapidly and I appreciate efforts to educate us on these technologies and to ensure that our state is not left behind. It will be interesting to here how it relates to the various industries in Florida.
